Brigitte Debernardi
Born in France, raised in South America, I have lived and travelled all over Europe. I am currently living in Provence, south of France.
I have always been and still am surrounded by Art, the sea, nature, and colorful human souls.
I was fortunate enough to travel the world, and experience art through many many talented European, African and Amerian artists. After a break recovering from a plane crash in Paraguay, and dedicating myself to raising my children, I am returning to showing my productions.
Colors, colors, colors... have always been at the centre of visual arts. They are life, joy, and still a great mystery. My vision is deeply focused into organizing our inner color perceptions. My efforts focus on structuring and giving emotional birth to our natural brain perception of colors through Art. A natural flow, yet inevitably controlled.
I paint exclusively outside, for natural light and I dry the paintings ouside too for several hours before hanging them inside to fully cure. The paint used is rich, deep, fluid and heavily pigmented. The lines and movements are often led by my isotropic process. I used to paint on wood, and now on canvas laid on a horizontal hard surface.
